Roger Corman
Roger Corman began his career in the film business as a writer, producer and director in the mid 1950s, directing such films as The Little Shop of Horrors, The Intruder, The Secret Invasion, The Wild Angels and The Trip. Corman also produced Grand Theft Auto, Death Race 2000, Piranha and Battle Beyond the Stars. Over the years, Corman has worked with many acclaimed directors and actors, including Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, Jack Nicholson and Robert DeNiro. In 1970, he started his own production and distribution company, New World Pictures (currently New Horizons Picture Corp.). In 2009, Corman was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
