IFTA saves you money.  The Alliance provides Member-only discounts, including more than $5,000 in savings at the American Film Market.  IFTA Collections – which paid over $5 million in secondary royalties last year – offers Members stellar service at the lowest admin fee available.  Members also have the opportunity to exhibit at major international markets under the IFTA Umbrella Stand program, saving thousands of dollars in exhibition costs.

IFTA gives the Independents a voice ensuring your needs and concerns are heard worldwide.  In 2011, we were present before decision-makers in Washington, the U.K. and the European Commission as debates unfolded on copyright principles, new distribution platforms and potential changes to our models for financing and licensing.  Those debates are far from over, but IFTA is known and called upon by decision makers as new public policies are developed. 

In the U.S., IFTA took critical steps towards combating piracy by joining major broadband companies to create a landmark ‘Copyright Alerts’ program to advise consumers about content theft, and IFTA will be the point of contact for Members in a Best Practices anti-counterfeiting program with major payment processors.

IFTA’s legal and research staff develop exclusive reports, publications and guides for our Members.  We provide Members with ongoing proprietary information on copyright protection, licensing, distribution, tax changes, box office and key territories.  Our Buyer Review Forums held in advance of the major markets provide valuable buyer and local market insight.  IFTA’s legal and research teams and the IFTA website are always available to provide information to Members and answer questions.
