Independent Films Take Home 15 Academy Award Wins

The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA®) is pleased to announce that independent films took home 15 wins at last night’s 89th Academy Awards accounting for 71% of the awards in 21 feature film categories. Oscar winners Moonlight, La La Land, Manchester by the Sea, Hacksaw Ridge, Arrival and The Salesman are all independent having been produced and sold territory-by-territory outside of the six major Hollywood studios.
