Demand to Bar

The American Film Market (AFM) may, in some instances, bar companies from attending the AFM if they have failed to comply with a judicially confirmed Independent Film & Television Alliance Arbitration Award or an AFMA Arbitration Award or have failed to pay an IFTA arbitrator's fees.

Barring is not automatic and the prevailing party in an arbitration must submit a complete Demand to Bar no less than seventy-five (75) days before the start of AFM.  (For AFM 2013, the deadline to submit a complete Demand to Bar is August 23, 2013.)  For more information regarding barring, please contact Kim Tommaselli, Senior Counsel at ktommaselli@ifta-online.org.
