ROGER CORMAN MAKES SUNDANCE DEBUT WITH "VIRTUALLY HEROES"
Longtime Independent filmmaker and IFTA Board Member, Roger Corman, has just made his highly anticipated Sundance Film Festival debut, delighting audiences with his self-aware video-game feature Virtually Heroes. The widely respected producer is credited with over 400 titles in his illustrious career, yet had never before had one of his films showcased at Sundance.
After approaching director GJ Echternkamp with Vietnam War stock footage, Corman expected a low-budget war picture, but was instead won over by Echternkamp’s unique idea. “It was totally original and that is the reason we are in Sundance,” Corman told Screen International's Jeremy Kay in an interview.
