DDA Public Relations has been retained as the agency of record to handle all PR, corporate communications, and social media strategy for the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA). DDA will create and advise on PR initiatives to support IFTA’s objectives and enhance external communications between the global trade association, its members, and the entertainment industry at large. Additionally, DDA will be responsible for the publicity, media relations and press office for the American Film Market (AFM) taking place November 5 – 12, 2014 in Santa Monica, CA.

IFTA is the industry body responsible for representing over 150 independent producers and distributors of independent films and television programs.  With members across 23 countries, IFTA’s main goal is to maximize its members’ revenue streams while setting industry standards and processes, reducing friction, supporting access and ultimately protecting their members against adversity.

“DDA has a superior knowledge of the international film market and a strong rapport with our members which makes them the ideal PR firm to represent IFTA,” states IFTA President & CEO Jean Prewitt. “IFTA is a global organization with its members spread all over the world, so we are thrilled to be working with a team that understands independent production and distribution both in the U.S. and worldwide.”

“DDA represents a number of today’s leading independent producers, sales agents, distributors, and financiers, as well as handling numerous of the films in which they are involved, so we share many common goals and interests with IFTA,” says DDA Partner & President Dana Archer. “We look to bring awareness of IFTA’s initiatives which are crucial to serve, enhance, and protect every level of independent production."

IFTA is responsible for numerous initiatives that support its members including arbitration services, lobbying for change on global issues that affect the independent industry, and organizing the largest film market in the world, the American Film Market.
