IFTA is the trade association representing the independent motion picture and television industry worldwide. Its members are companies that are active in production, licensing and financing of programming for international distribution. Benefits of IFTA membership are available to all employees of the member company. There are five categories of IFTA membership: Voting, Associate, Affiliate, Affiliated Governmental Film Organizations and Affiliated Financial Institutions. The Alliance also offers a benefit package to Affiliated Production Companies (APCs) who have a current relationship with our Members. Member Selection Criteria The qualifications for IFTA membership are: Voting Membership Voting Membership is available to a company that (a) is and has been actively engaged in the business of licensing, or representing the licensing of theatrical, video or television rights in theatrical motion pictures or television programs outside the United States for the last five (5) years; and (b) owns or represents the right to license theatrical, video or television rights of at least five (5) theatrical motion pictures or television programs for license periods of at least five (5) years in at least twenty (20) of the top thirty (30) territories outside the United States. Associate Membership Associate Membership is available to a company that (a) is and has been actively engaged in the business of licensing, or representing the licensing of theatrical, video or television rights in theatrical motion pictures or television programs outside the United States for the past year; and (b) owns or represents the right to license theatrical, video or television rights in at least two (2) theatrical motion pictures or television programs for license periods of at least five (5) years in at least ten (10) of the top thirty (30) territories outside the United States. Under certain circumstances, a recently formed company may be eligible for Voting or Associate Membership based upon the prior experience of its senior licensing executive(s). Affiliate Membership Affiliate Membership is available to a company that (a) is and has been actively engaged in the business of licensing or representing the licensing of theatrical motion pictures or television programs to licensees engaged in distribution outside its home country for the past year; and (b) owns or represents the right to license rights in at least two (2) theatrical motion pictures or television programs for license periods of at least five (5) years in at least ten (10) of the top thirty (30) major territories. Affiliate Membership (Governmental Film Organization) Membership as an Affiliated Governmental Film Organization is available to a governmental or quasi-governmental organization actively engaged in assisting in, or subsidizing of, local production and international marketing of theatrical motion pictures or television programs. Affiliate Membership (Financial Institution) Membership as an Affiliated Financial Institution (AFI) is available to a firm that is and has been actively engaged in the business of providing finance-related services that are made available to IFTA members for a period no less t
